Main Purpose of Role:
AYBL are looking for in-house Junior Garment Technologist with knowledge across multi product to support our Garment Technologist and Design Team in the creation and development of new and innovative products to ensure they are fit for purpose, and fit is consistent to current product. Within in this role you will report to our Garment Technologist to assist and support in a range of garment technologist related work and take ownership of the organisation and day-to-day admin of the garment technology department.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Working closely with the Garment Technologist and Designers to develop branded products which are fit for purpose.
• Responsible for measuring all samples ahead of fit sessions
• Organise samples for fit sessions and assist in fit sessions, taking clear notes and images
• Support our Garment Technologist in sending fit comments to suppliers
• Responsible for chasing all fit samples and production/shipment samples
• Review production/shipment samples to confirm they adhere to all agreed standards of fit, quality, labelling and packaging.
• General day-to-day organisation of the garment technology department including fit samples, QC reports, fabric testing etc
• And any other duties required by your manager.
Person Specification
• Previous experience in a Garment Technologist role/placement would be advantageous but not crucial
• Degree in Garment Technology or similar
• Good knowledge of multi product fit across Womenswear and Menswear
• Good knowledge of pattern cutting and grading
• Good relevant knowledge of fabric/materials/components
• Excellent attention to detail
• Driven work ethic, taking ownership of your work/role
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Passionate about making a difference
• Good organisational and planning skills
• Interest in the fitness industry would be advantageous
